Privacy ​

The short version: everything you create in KimtOS stays on your device. Notes, tasks, PDFs, clipboard, recordings, whiteboards and AI conversations live in your browser's own storage. We have no copy, and could not read them if we wanted to.

The AI runs on your machine too. Speech-to-text, OCR, denoising, grammar and chat all execute inside the browser tab using WebAssembly and WebGPU. Your audio, images and text are never uploaded for processing — there is no server doing it.

If you create an account, we hold your name, your email, which plan you are on, and the country you sign in from (the country only — never your IP; your account keeps the latest one, and each browser you have signed in from keeps the country it was seen from, which is what triggers the new-device alert). Nothing else.

It is deliberately specific rather than boilerplate: it lists exactly what the database holds, every third party involved, and every case where KimtOS touches the network — including the ones you might not expect, such as the weather card and the trending-article feed.

We keep one copy of that policy, on kimtos.com, so there is no chance of two versions drifting apart and one of them being wrong.

Cookies ​

Neither this docs site nor kimtos.com sets any analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. The cookie dialog on your first visit is there so you can decide about optional categories (analytics, marketing) before anything in them could ever run — and today those categories are empty, so nothing non-essential is stored whatever you choose. The things stored on your device here are your light/dark theme choice, your consent choice itself, and — only if you start a support chat while signed out — a token that lets you reopen that one conversation. You can revisit your choice any time via Cookie settings at the bottom of the page. The full table, with every name, purpose and lifetime, is in the policy's Cookies and local storage section.
