Your account and Pro

You do not need an account to use KimtOS. The free apps work forever without one.

An account does exactly one thing: it unlocks the Pro apps. That is the whole relationship. There is no free feature hidden behind sign-in.

The one thing to understand first

Your data does not follow you to another computer

Signing in does not sync anything. Your notes, tasks, PDFs, boards, clipboard and chats live in the browser on the machine you created them on, and they stay there.

Sign in on a second computer and Pro unlocks — but the workspace starts empty.

To move your work between machines, use Settings ▸ Data ▸ Export my data and import the file on the other side. See Your data. We cannot recover your data for you, because we never had a copy of it.

Signing in

From the new tab, click your avatar (top right) and choose Sign in, or go to Settings ▸ Account.

A small Chrome window opens on kimtos.com. You sign in there — with your email and password, or with Google or GitHub — and the window closes by itself. If you were already signed in on the website, it may flash past so quickly you barely see it.

That is normal. The extension never asks for your password directly; the website handles it and hands the extension a short-lived code.

What Pro unlocks

Pro unlocks the on-device AI and media apps — Voice to Text, Image to Text, KimtAI, NotaBoard, Denoise, Thoth, Grammit, Rewordit, Voice Studio, Video Recorder, Clipboard, Retouch and FakeForm — plus everything we ship later. It is $10 a month or $100 a year; see Plans for the full comparison.

The Pro apps still run entirely on your device. Paying does not send your work anywhere; it unlocks software that was always going to run locally.

The free trial

Every Pro plan starts with a 3-day free trial. Your card is collected at checkout, but the first charge only happens when the trial ends. Pro unlocks immediately — the full product, on your own data. Cancel from your billing page before the trial ends and you are never charged; the If your subscription ends rules apply, and nothing is deleted.

Pro on more than one computer

Sign in on each one. The plan lives on our server, so Pro unlocks anywhere you sign in — usually within a minute, and immediately if you switch back to the tab.

Remember: the plan travels, the data does not.

If your subscription ends

Nothing is deleted.

• Pro apps stay in your dock, but open to an upgrade wall instead of the app.
• All of your data survives, untouched, on your device. Your notes are still your notes.
• Every free app keeps working exactly as before.
• Re-subscribe and everything is where you left it.

We do not hold your work hostage, and we could not delete it if we wanted to — it is not on our servers.

Managing your subscription

Settings ▸ Account shows your plan, with Upgrade to Pro or Manage billing. Billing is handled by Dodo Payments, our merchant of record; we never see your card number. Cancelling and refunds are covered on the Refunds page.

What we know about you

If you have an account: your name, your email, which plan you are on, and the country you sign in from (the country only — never your IP). That is all. We never see anything you create. The full details are in the privacy policy.
